New Maybelline Foundation: Fit Me!

   So Maybelline have released a new foundation, I'm not sure when it was released but it's only new to Ireland. I needed a new foundation having run out of all of my own foundation at the same time, typical! So, Boots 3-for-2 got me again.....

    Fit Me is a very liquid foundation, not a trace of powder or mattifying substance in it at all! Has a nice range of colours and a nice friendly and useful chart for matching your skintone. The chart helps to match you skintone with the foundation colours and a match concealor and powder. Not that I need help picking mind but for those of you who struggle to find the perfect colour it is very helpful! Anyway...I bought a more tanned foundation colour, no. 130 with matching powder 120. I have to say I really like the foundation. I love the consistency for my dry skin and also it has really good coverage. More of a medium coverage foundation but it is definently buildable. It does remain quite oily and liquid-like on the skin so if you don't like that finish or you don't like using a setting powder then this isn't the foundation for you. I use my Smanatha Chapman Real Techniques Buffing brush to apply. It's my ultimate foundation brush and if you have bought it already, I suggest you head to Boot's 3-for-2, perfect excuse for a purchase. (You'll find it in the 'Core Collection', the gold brushes.)

    Fit Me Setting Powder, probably one of the worst pigmented powdered I've ever come across! Even if you scrub your brush into the powder it still doesn't give off a great amount of powder. Very disappointed. I constantly have to top up my powder throughout the day, more times than usual and is a pain to be honest. I will persist though because you never know it might get better, although I don't hold out great hope for such a miracle.

     I quite like the packaging! Clear glass bottle with a black lid and pump. I love foundation that come with pumps, they are better than those without pumps, I end up wasting a load of product. Not that case with Fit Me though. Powder packaging is also nice. The bottom lifts up and there is a powder puff and a big mirror. The actual powder pan itself doesn't appear to be that deep so I don't think it will be lasting long, and for €8.99 and the bad pigmentation, I would be expecting it to last a good long time.

     As I said, Powder is €8.99 and Foundation is €11.99, currently on a special in Boots 'cos there new so now is the time to buy if you're going to try. There is also a Fit Me concealor and blusher too. However, the blusher is awful pigment and poor colour choices and I love my Collection 2000 concealer too much to change.

    So in summary, I like the foundation, would defo buy more of these, but I don't think the powder is worth the money. Sums it up nicely I think...

Maybelline Baby Lips!

   I can't put into words how much I have wanted to try these Baby Lips from Maybelline, but of course they don't sell them in Ireland, or even in the UK. Why? I don't know, probably just to annoy me! Grrr!! I seen sooooo much about how amazing these are from different bloggers and makeup artists and I have been dying to get at least one so I turned my debit card to the Ebay World, a place I wouldn't normally try for makeup. For the product and shipping (from Thailand) was only 4 euro! Couldn't really say no even if it took weeks to get here!

I wanted to choose a couple of different colours but I just got one (incase they were rotten, how sensible and unlike me!!). I choose 'Soothing Cherry', not because I like cherries or anything but simply 'cos I liked the colour of the lips on the packet. But, do you think that the balm turns my lips that colour? Eh no, misleading or what?? But anyway, smell is quite nice, cherries as you might imagine, not overwhelming and fades away pretty quick when on your lips. The balm itself is pretty moisturising on your lips, and does last a long time even for a cheapy product which surprised me a lot.

Tiny little little balm stick and it is a twist up device. A clear balm with the tiniest hint of pink through it. Doesn't make too much colour impact on the lips, mainly it is just a shiny gloss on the lips. Feels really nourishing, but it doesn't quite last the 8hr's that Maybelline says it does. I like it though, a good 4euro investment I think! :D

I'm defo going to buy a couple more of these Baby lips as they do help rejuvenate your lips for a small price and hopefully I'll find the ones that add a bit of colour to your lips. If I'm really hopeful though, maybe Maybelline will release them in Europe, or just Ireland, ya know whatever. Finger Crossed!

Anyway, check them out, and if anyone is in American and wants to buy them for me, don't hesitate, I won't mind! :D

Cranberry and Bronze Eyes!

Step by Step Eyes for Summer Ladies!!!

    Most of you may, or may not know, but Cranberry/Burgundy colours are my FAAAAVOURITE eyeshadows. So flattering on all eye colours and are really underrated in my opinion. They are difficult to use though, use it wrong and you instantly look like you've had a box in the eye, so may sure you blend the bejaysus out of it with  another shadow colour. 

Step 1: First step is to prime the eye by either using an Eye Primer, my favourite is Urban Decay’s Primer Potion, or you can otherwise use a small bit of your concealer. Place this all over the eye, right up to the brow, I would then usually say use you setting powder or an 'eggshell' eyeshadow to matt this down to avoid creases but today I'm using a cream eyeshadow so that step isn't important. 

Step 2: Using a synthetic flat brush, take some of your Maybelline Colour Tattoo and start packing the colour onto the lid, keep applying this until you are happy with the colour and depth of the cream shadow. (You can of course use a normal bronze powder eyeshadow in place of this cream shadow). You will now want to take a blender brush, this will be a really tapered, fluffy brush, and then blend out the edges of the edges of the bronze shadow to create a soft edges in your socket line.

 Step by Step:

Step 3: Next you will need to take your cranberry shadow and using the same blending brush softly blend the colour into the socket. Blending into your socket means that you will apply the shadow where your eye folds back into itself and moving over and back, much like a windscreen wiper motion, until you are happy with the colour and intensity. I’ve chosen to use Mac’s ‘Cranberry’ Eyeshadow but there are dupes of this colour in every brand this season as it is very popular. 

Step 4: Once you are happy with the colour and shape of your eyeshadow, it is time for eyeliner. Now, eyeliner can be scary for some people but it really is all about practice. I’m using Inglot Cosmetics infamous black Gel in no. 77, which is by far the best gel liner on the market today, in my opinion, I rarely go a day without using it. Using an angled brush, mine is from Mac, and starting in the centre of my eye stenciling the liner across my lashes. I always choose to do a dramatically thick, winged liner but you can always choose to do a liner that would be less dramatic and more suited to your own eye shape.

Step 5: To finish off the look, apply any kohl black liner to the bottom waterline and smudge any matte, black shadow to soften the bottom lashline and give the look a smokier look. You can add lashes for a more dramatic look, otherwise apply your mascara and away you go. Today I used Clinque's High Impact Mascara, my current favourite mascara.
